Northern Endeavour slapped with notice

THE National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority has hit the new owner of the Laminaria and Corallina oil fields with an environmental prohibition notice that could see production terminated over concerns over the oil spill response plan.

The notice comes after a sales and purchase process between Woodside Petroleum and private Perth-based concern Northern Oil & Gas that roused the ire of the regulator.
