E-learning into the North Sea

PETROFAC has laid claim to being the first North Sea oil and gas service provider to introduce a ...

Developed by Mintra Training Portal, the online e-learning program will provide clarity on rules, roles and responsibilities around control of work and safe systems of work.

Specially designed to fill any existing knowledge gaps and improve worksite communication, the program also aims to promote a consistent approach to worker training in all disciplines and at all levels across Petrofac's offshore projects and operations business.

Mintra will deliver the initial course over the next three months and the first e-learning program is being rolled out to Petrofac OPO personnel.

It will be made available to the wider industry by Mintra later this year.

Divided into four units of e-learning, the interactive course uses 3D animations, case studies and offshore videos tailored towards individual job roles.

It incorporates lessons learned from past accidents to improve understanding and promote risk awareness.

Results will be fully tracked with online mentoring available to all Petrofac employees and external contractors.
