Mariner gets DECC tick

THE UK government's Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has approved the field development plan for the Mariner heavy oil field.

The project entails investment of more than $US7 billion ($A6.8 billion) and is the largest offshore development in the UK in more than a decade.
