The company gave £5000 ($A9459) to the team from Robert Gordon University, enabling it to buy a new team kit with the company's logo emblazoned across the front, training equipment and extra gym sessions, as well as supporting the search for a new coach.
"Teekay Petrojarl is currently expanding its workforce and offers a broad range of exciting roles for motivated professionals and engineers," Teekay human resources advisor Gemma Gove said.
"The company is an equal opportunity employer and we believe it is important for woman to be represented within the workforce.
"We hope that by sponsoring the team we can raise awareness of Teekay Petrojarl at RGU and attract talented and committed females into the energy industry."
Filippo Antoniazzi, who coaches all of the university's football teams, welcomed the funding.
"We're proud to work with Teekay to develop our ladies football team," he said.
"Their sponsorship has already meant that the team has been able to book extra training sessions which is improving their performance in matches.
"Corporate support like this goes a very long way to supporting our sports teams who compete throughout the academic year.
"The students benefit greatly from the additional funding and work even harder to make sure sponsors are known across the university and associated with success."
