NEW ZEALAND oil and gas companies have embraced new laws by the Ardern Labour government by signing onto a new transparency code of conduct, after shutdowns at fields left the country scrambling as it faced energy security issues.

From Friday all oil and gas companies in the country will be required to publish planned and unplanned shutdowns at gas fields, plants, and downstream facilities.
