AWE slims down Taranaki lease

THE New Zealand government has confirmed AWE's partial surrender of its offshore Taranaki lease PEP 38524.

According to NZ Petroleum and Minerals, Sydney-headquartered AWE has relinquished 620 square kilometres of the original 1849sq.km block, which is due to expire in March 2012.
