Body recovered in Nigerian chopper crash

ChevronTexaco has announced the crash into the Gulf of Guinea of the missing Pan African Airlines...

In a statement ChevronTexaco said, “One body had already been recovered near the site of the crash, which took place shortly after the helicopter on a medical mission took off from one of [our] deep water locations.”

“Rescue operations [are] still underway [and] the cause of the crash [is] still unknown,” added the firm. The US giant did not specify whose body was recovered.

As reported by EnergyReview.net earlier, at the time of the crash, the helicopter was carrying three Nigerians and the American pilot.

According to ChevronTexaco Chairman and MD Jay Pryor, “The incident underscores why all of us in the oil industry, both producers and service companies, must continue to work together to strive for zero incidents in our operations.”
