In the March quarter, the Sydney-based mid-cap’s output fell 45% to 574,408 barrels, while revenue dropped 41% to $38.9 million.
Doran attributed the lower production to a “variety of quite separate factors affecting different field operations”.
He said the company achieved less sales revenue due to significantly higher overlift in the previous quarter and underlift in this quarter.
“In other words: situation normal for a company that is actively operating a variety of projects,” he said.
Doran described the period as a “relatively quiet quarter sandwiched between a landmark 4Q and a potentially very significant 2Q 2007”.
Cliff Head production dropped 9% in the March quarter to 7900 barrels of oil per day, due to a planned shut-in, along with mechanical and downstream constraints.
At the end of the period, output had risen to between 8000-9000bopd from five of the six designated producers.
Meanwhile, quarterly output at the Woodside-operated Chinguetti oil field has declined a further 22% to 18,300bopd, even though a new development well, Chinguetti-18, was brought online during this time.
Looking ahead, Roc said its Enoch oil and gas field in the North Sea remained on schedule to come online in the next quarter, while first oil from Blane was being held back to the third quarter.
